Over the years, my taste in food has changed, as have my recipes. This blog will chronicle the changes I continue to make, as I face challenges in healthier eating and in new methods of cooking.
What a GREAT idea! Mondays were always Red Beans and Rice Day in New Orleans. Since traditionally it was washday, an all day affair before washers and dryers:) I found this in my notes. Unfortunately, I didn't make note of where it came from: "Red beans and rice became a traditional dish on Mondays in New Orleans because it made use of the ham bone left over from Sunday dinner. Monday was typically wash day, and the beans could be simmered for a long time on the back of the stove while the laundry was being done."
I'll have to check to see if I can find a recipe. Thanks for sharing...
Oh I love this idea. Although I have already cooked dinner for tonight (spaghetti bolognese) my family and I will be joining the crusade next week! I am so hungry looking at all of the recipes/food above:)
Thanks for the link. I put my Vegetarain Foodie Friday yogurt parfait recipe up but next week I will have a vegetarian entree for you! Thanks for sharing your space.
